Parents and Students

The free Lexile “Find a Book” search can help you make a reading list of books for school or pleasure that are at your child’s reading level. Just click “Find a Book” to start filling a Lexile BookBag together.

It’s simple -- tell us what kind of a reader your child is (or enter his or her Lexile measure), and select some of his or her areas of interest. We’ll show you lots of interesting books matched to your child’s Lexile reading range that you can choose from. You can even see if the books are in your local library.

Fill your Lexile BookBag with great books to read. Then print your BookBag and take it to the bookstore or library, or put it on the refrigerator to keep track as your child reads.

“Find a Book” and Durham Public Schools
This year, MetaMetrics partnered with Durham Public Schools and the county libraries to encourage students to read over the summer. Each student received a custom Lexile map and directions on using the Find a Book Web site to select targeted summer reading materials. In the district’s latest Bright Ideas segment, Superintendent Dr. Carl Harris explains how Durham schools used Lexiles to help students select books that matched their unique reading abilities.
