Educators
The free Lexile “Find a Book” search can help your students read and learn all year. Just click “Find a Book” to start making leveled, interest-area or content-area booklists for your students to take home or to the library.
It’s simple -- tell us the level of a group of readers in your class (or enter a Lexile measure), and select some of their areas of interest. We’ll show you lots of interesting books matched to their Lexile reading range. Choose books to put in a Lexile BookBag and print it out for your students. You can even see if the books are in the local libraries.
Alternatively, students can fill a BookBag by themselves in the computer lab. Just click “Find a Book” to begin.
“Find a Book” and Durham Public Schools
This year, MetaMetrics partnered with Durham Public Schools and the county libraries to encourage students to read over the summer. Each student received a custom Lexile map and directions on using the Find a Book Web site to select targeted summer reading materials. In the district’s latest Bright Ideas segment, Superintendent Dr. Carl Harris explains how Durham schools used Lexiles to help students select books that matched their unique reading abilities.
