Overview: Successful teachers foster successful students by providing them with targeted instruction and resources that meet and challenge their individual abilities and interests. MetaMetrics’ 2008 Lexile National Conference & Quantile Symposium will explore how today’s educators are raising student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics and preparing them for the postsecondary demands of higher education, the workplace and life. Administrators, classroom teachers and librarians will share their unique perspectives on implementing and using The Lexile Frameworks for Reading and Writing to differentiate instruction and promote the reading-writing connection—the importance of reading in the development of student writing ability.
New for 2008, an entire day will be devoted to The Quantile Framework for Mathematics. The Quantile Symposium will focus on the significance of mathematics in and outside of the classroom and highlight how educators are using Quantile measures to measure student readiness and monitor growth.
